After an extremely successful first season, the Brew City Blades B team took home first place in the WCHL White Division championship playoffs.
Their first game was a heartbreaking one point loss in overtime on Friday, March 7th. They battled the Quad Cities Blueliners to a 1-1 tie, only to lose it by one point in sudden death overtime.
The next day, Saturday, March 8th, things started to look up. Their first game against the Evanston Tigers resulted in a 2-0 win. Later that same day, they dominated the Chicago Flash, to win 5-1.
The first game the following day, Sunday, Mach 9th started with a harrowing win in overtime over the Madison Lightning. The final goal was scored with less than a minute left on the game clock, to clinch the 3-2 victory.
This win advanced them to the championship game, which was a rematch with the Quad Cities Blueliners. This time, they didn't let the women from the Quad Cities get the best of them. They came out swinging and ended up winning the game 2-1.
After an exhausting weekend and five games, our ladies from the Brew City Blades managed to come out on top. Outstanding results for their first year in the league!
Congratulations to the Brew City Blades B Team!!
