Scorekeepers
Scott & Anne Nushart
I have been around hockey in one capacity or another since around 1996. As a team manager, assistant coach, scorekeeper and goal judge, I have been in contact with all levels from youth through college. All of those years have been in the proximity of female hockey players.
My older daughter has been a winger throughout her career at Pettit, for the duration of her high school years with the Wauwatosa full-check program, and eventually as president and co-captain of the Ohio State Women's Club program for 5 years of undergrad and 1-1/2 years of grad school. She now skates with the championship Mitey Mites in the huge Chiller league in Columbus, Ohio, and still finds some time to help out with the women's team and a local high-end high school program. During that time, I have scorekept games around the Milwaukee area adding up to over 200 games per year. When the opportunity arose to work the women's league, I jumped at the prospect.
Now my younger protégé, Annie, is picking up where dear old Dad left off. She is as smitten by the level of fun, respect and sportsmanship as I was after watching my first Brew City game. I am extremely proud to associated with all of the players in this program, and look forward to the upcoming seasons!
Now if I can only convince our officials to toss our club officers in the box as much as they truly deserve it!

Lori Highby - Tournament & Marketing Director
My grandpa, dad, brother and some cousins have all played hockey - its only fitting that I laced up a pair of skates as well. Starting around the age of 4, I was in the learn to skate programs and on a mini-mite team at the Rolling Meadows Ice Arena in Illinois. In my youth, I did a lot of hockey watching rather than skating. Attending most of my dads practices and games, traveling to hockey tournaments were our "family vacations". Although not on the ice, I was still an active team player, playing little league, high-school, and travel fast-pitch softball.
After taking a couple of years off the ice, I returned to skating with a team. In high school, I skated with the co-ed novice adult program at the Pettit. I remember my mom telling me, "your going to marry a hockey player one day", and she was right, my husband and I met playing on a co-ed team. After another sabbatical from hockey to finish my degree, I jumped back into the sport and played in the Metro summer league before joining the Brew City Blades C team in 2008.
Michelle "Mitch" Janich - Creative Director
Michelle "Mitch" Janich has been playing hockey for 15 years. She began playing roller hockey in 1995 at local roller rinks. In 2000, she gave up playing on a wood surface to playing on ice. Mitch has played on two co-ed teams and three different women's teams. When asked by other's when hockey season is over, she replies "never", because she's always on the ice.
