The Brew City Showdown is scheduled for May 21-23, 2010. This 2nd annual tournament will be raising money for the National Osteoporosis Foundation. A portion of the proceeds raised from the tournament will go towards the foundation.
The tournament is open to all B, C1, C2 and D level female adult skaters, 18 years of age and up.
Our goal is to have parity in the divisions. Please read the skill level divisions below and place your team in the division that best describes your team. For those teams in the WCHL, we have used those color skill levels as a guide. For those teams unfamiliar with the color divisions please use the descriptions as a guide.
B (red/white) level This division is comprised of competitive hockey players who have had experience at the club college, high school, and/or started skating as a child with above average hockey skills. The level of play is below that of college but it remains highly competitive. Strong skating skills in all areas, can shoot the puck well, knows the game and is very competitive.
C-1 (gray/upper blue) level This division is comprised of intermediate hockey players with good skating, shooting, passing and puck handling skills. Players continue to work on and improve their individual hockey skills as well as overall team skills. Knows the game well and can execute some plays.
C-2 (blue) level This division is comprised of average hockey players who possess decent puck handling, skating, passing & shooting skills while participating in a competitive team play atmosphere. It consists mostly of skaters that have started playing as adults but have played for many years. Skating skills, shooting, passing and puck handling are still being being developed. Most of these players are competitive and yet still learning the game in a more competitive atmosphere. They know the basics of the game and are working to improve in all areas.
Novice (green) level This Division is for hockey players who are still new to the game and need to improve on the basic skills along with hockey players who are not necessarily new to the game but need to improve on the basic skills of puck handling, skating, and passing & shooting while participating in a team play atmosphere. Absolutely no gray or above skill level players allowed in this division.
